Professor Life

As an Associate Professor of Professional Practice in the department of Cinematic Arts at the School of Communication, University of Miami, I have found teaching to be more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. Outside of filmmaking, it offers me the opportunity to share what’s happening within our industry on regular basis and I get to learn so much from my students. They teach me about what they are consuming, what inspires them and what they are creating. Alongside my film projects, I get to spend my days researching the entertainment industry, its changing business practices and the global content economy. After synthesizing that information I share my insights with my students in the classroom and teach them how to do their own analysis.

My goal is to help my students find a place for their own voices in this ecosystem. Coupling this research with my practice and business background helps me exemplify the symbiotic relationship between art and commerce.
